Dorian gets almost no recognition and I’m really ticked off so here
— He fell in love with a girl with phantom blood on her hands and a crown hovering above her head but he always accepted and loved every part of her
— He let go the girl he was in love with so her and his best friend could fall in love
— He was there for Celaena when she “had nowhere else to go”
— He let Celaena be shipped off to Wendlyn only because Chaol insisted it was safe for her
— He found out who Celaena really was and accepted that part of her; he wasn’t even mad, he was just upset it had been kept a secret from him
— He had to witness the woman he loved be beheaded
— He took on his father to give Chaol time to escape
— He was possessed for almost a whole book, could not remember his own name, and was depressed and suicidal, yet he came back
— He had to kill his own father for his kingdom and the world
— He was left all alone with a new title and a kingdom to rule by himself after just being possessed
— Dorian Havilliard is one of the best characters in this series and he not only deserves better, he also deserves some appreciation and recognition for all that he’s gone through and sacrificed.
When I read, I become a part of the character. If the character feels lost in their world, I feel lost in life, if they’re confused, I become confused, if they’re breathlessly in love, so am I. And this is what I love about reading so much. The ability to become lost in someone else’s life, someone else’s world. To be able to leave my life, and live in someone else’s is the most amazing thing in the world.
I don’t believe in love at first sight but I believe in meeting someone for the first time and knowing they’re going to change your life.
